I appreciate working with individuals who have been hesitant towards or suspicious of therapy (or maybe still are!) If you’ve found yourself disconnected, frustrated, or unfulfilled in relationships, or have the belief that you or others close to you are “too sensitive” because of anxiety or emotional responses in general, we may be a good fit to work together.
Anxiety and self-judgement can cause us to avoid or numb out, and the avoidance can lead to an increase in the anxiety and self-judgement. I am passionate about working with clients who have been caught in this loop and are feeling on edge about making a change.
Using elements of ACT and DBT through an attachment lens, my clients and I use the relationship we create as a way to process interpersonal stressors, barriers to increased self-worth, and internal motivators while exploring personal values and integrating mindfulness practices. It is my goal to hold a space for you to identify what is happening within you as you tell your story, develop compassion for pain points along the way, and build coping skills to tolerate distress.
When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m usually trying a new hobby (the commitment/follow through doesn’t always happen, but sewing and embroidery is the current train I’m on)! I love a good antique/thrift store, and I’m always down for a DIY home project.
Here’s a playlist I made of songs that have reminded me of my work with clients.
